Our Story

little me in front of loom.jpg

My mother taught me how to weave when I was 8 years old. Hammock weaving is a tradition in my family. I grew up watching my mother at the loom, her fingers deftly interlinking strands of cotton. Weaving is cathartic, much like the experience of lounging in a hammock with a good book.

Though I grew up weaving hammocks for my mother’s business, as I reached adulthood, I stopped for a few years to travel and forge my own path. I eventually came back to weaving as a form of therapy, and a way to reconnect with my roots. I realized that weaving a hammock is a way to generate peace, both for myself and for those who enjoy our hammocks.
